I didn’t realize how much I miss working with all those crazy kiddos until I saw this hilarious (and completely true) diagram of how a toddler’s brain functions. I miss doing little girls’ hair only to have them pulling it out in about 3.26 seconds. I miss running after them trying to get their shoes on their feet (doesn’t matter if they’re even on the correct foot). I miss pulling fingers out of noses and singing “Itsy Bitsy Spider” and “Wheels on the Bus” over and over until they either fall asleep or a coworker threatens to kill me if I sang it one more time. I miss spilled milk and the constant cold that everyone had all the time. I miss epic Disney-Movie-Friday-Nap-Times. I miss the fact that no matter what, I always got to cuddle every day. I miss sugar high’s—the kiddos’ and mine, and I miss the touch and feel books about puppies and sheep and elmo. I miss pretending to be a duck and making a nest for all my baby ducks on the playground, and I really really miss those sloppy sticky goobery boogery kisses. Most of all, I just miss those kids!
